CleanMyDrive 2 App Reviews

Worthless App. No longer the effective App it once was. It literally doesn’t ‘do’ anything other than eject a disk. For cleaning, for some reason, it doesn’t even do that. There’s no right click or left click option to use it anymore. Very surprised by this product’s decline… Deleted.

Downloaded cmm2.Ran it and decided to upgrade to cmm3. Now I have a useless MAC. Tried to access Finder. Got notice that Finder was not responding. Tried Relaunch option. Nothing. Tried Open all windows. Nothing. Went to my back up disk, but since the finder wasn’t working, no icon for the back disk. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR MAC. SENT MESSAGE REQUESTING HELP. NOTHING.

While I love Apple’s approach to a simplistic “keep stuff from the user, they might be dumb and not need to know”, which works great most of the times, WHAT were they thinking to keep .trashes files on removable media? You have to emtpy your waste bin on the main mac (to remove ALL the main .Trashes) just to clean up a puny tiny little SMD? (Example: you have a 2G picture card for your camera, delete all pictures… only to find them still stuck in the .trashes folder. Try to take pictures to find out that the card is still full. What the heck? Enter: CleanMyDrive - i use it exclusively now for the past 2 years and it has not caused any problems to date (can’t follow those below who list it as useless, perhaps misunderstanding of function?) Can fully recommend it.

Years of customizing my files, gone! The icons are gone, and the tags are gone!! 400+ tags for files to make my life easier is no where to be seen, and it’s frustrating the hell out of me! I need hours or even days to recustomize everything for me to look for something, and I have to do that by memory. I did not even know that it would automatically clean my drive when I ejected it, at least let me do that manually! I’m just so mad! Years of work just gone!! Can I have the old version back?? I loved that one, recommeded it to serveral people. Now I just plainly hate this one. If it wasn’t for the purpose of evil seeing the memory avalibilty of my drive I would ave deleted this a long, long time ago!!

The app is useful and dangerous as well. It doesn’t ask you if you want erase hidden files and there isn’t any option. If you eject you memory drive, no matters if you want or don’t want, you “junk” is erased and you can’t do nothing. I don’t recommend the app.

Whilst downloading, read the reviews in Ap Store - I’m not having anything on my system that goes round doing things without my permission. DELETED

It really do what it is supposed to do. Clean your flash drives from “junkie” files in a fast and easy way. If you don’t want it to keep running all the time (i.e.: start on startup) you can just create an Automator Workflow. 5/5

It’ll be perfect if it show a Disk Activity like Menu Meters.

This product is simple and efficient.

I’m very delighted with this tool, it keeps my several USB sticks and external drives clean and saves me the work to manually inspect them. Did, however, not try to grant access to the builtin boot harddisk, but this is kept clean by CleanMyMac anyway.

My iMac was having issues and constant automatic rebooting since I upgraded to Mountain Lion. No matter what I tried, I couldnt pinpoint the problem(s). I installed CleanMyMac and ran the app. It trashed soooo much junk I didnt know I had, and cleared up over 8 gigs of space. I still have no idea why my Mac was crashing, but everything has performed faultlessly since the cleanup over two weeks ago. When I had a problem (that proved to be minor and had nothing to do with the app) I received an immediate and personal response from MacPaw… and a follow-up. I rate MacPaws customer service as highly as the app itself. Oh ya, and its the easiest way to intentionally delete old apps as Ive ever seen. I recommend it.

CleanMyDrive sits benignly in the tool bar and efficiently removes the clutter from my memory sticks. This is especially helpful when I share them with my peers that use Windows and ask, "What is the .xxxxxx file for?". Now there gone! Thanks….

This product along with the other Mac products from Mac Paw means I can be relatively comfortable that my Mac products are as clean as possible. I use external devices daily from back-up drives to my camera, iPhone and thumb sticks. They all are checked out seamlessly. Good work. Paul

I really like this App, its free and does a great job of clearing the garbage files off the drives I use with my Mac, especially my thumbdrives. In fact I liked it enought I also gave CleanMyMac a try and eventually bought it. So thank-you developer for making it and I would recommend it to anyone.
